About Komets Baseball

Komets Baseball is the nonprofit organization supporting the Kearny High School Baseball Program in San Diego, CA. We exist to give every Komet the equipment, coaching, facilities, and opportunities they need to compete at a high level and grow as students, athletes, and teammates — regardless of a family's ability to pay.

Kearny High School baseball has fielded teams for generations, producing standout alumni across college, professional, and Major League Baseball — most notably Hall of Famer Alan Trammell, for whom the program's home field is named. Komets Baseball was formed to carry that tradition forward: funding equipment and uniforms, keeping the field in playing shape, and covering the costs of tournaments and travel that a school athletics budget alone can't stretch to cover.

Named for Kearny High School alumnus and Baseball Hall of Famer Alan Trammell, six-time MLB All-Star and 1984 World Series champion shortstop for the Detroit Tigers.
