Named for Kearny High School alumnus and Baseball Hall of Famer Alan Trammell, six-time MLB All-Star and 1984 World Series champion shortstop for the Detroit Tigers.

Alan Trammell

SS · Detroit Tigers (1977-1996)

Six-time All-Star shortstop who spent his entire 20-year career with the Detroit Tigers, won the 1984 World Series and was named Series MVP after hitting .450 against the Padres. Won four Gold Gloves and three Silver Sluggers, later managed the Tigers (2003-2005), and was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2018. Alan Trammell Field, the Komets' home field, is named in his honor.

1B/OF · University of Arizona · Texas Rangers, Houston Astros, Cincinnati Reds, Montreal Expos (1987-1993)

Switch-hitting first baseman and outfielder who played parts of seven big league seasons. His best year came with the 1990 Rangers, batting .300 with 47 RBI; the highlight of his career was a two-homer, five-RBI game in 1990 with back-to-back blasts off Roger Clemens and Jeff Reardon.

Gary Beare

RHP · California State University, Long Beach · Milwaukee Brewers (1976-1977)

Right-handed pitcher drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 5th round of the 1974 draft. Pitched two big league seasons for the Brewers, tossing a complete-game win in his September 1976 MLB debut against Cleveland.
